SK Global Consulting is a boutique management consulting firm located in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in 2013 by Samreen Khan, who as former Senior Policy Advisor to the Governor of Illinois, was a key figure behind the growth and success of the Governor’s office during her five years there. SK Global Consulting firmly believes that the private sector and government can work together to expand opportunities and ensure the growth and economic development of Illinois and US businesses. Moreover, we strive to provide businesses, organizations, government agencies, and individuals with reputable advice and advocacy, at the global, federal, state, and local levels.
Samreen Khan holds a master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been working with city and state government for the past 12 years with a primary focus in the Chicago Metropolitan Region and in strong Democrat districts statewide. Her initial experience was working on Forrest Claypool’s political campaign for Cook County Commissioner of District 12. During this time, she worked closely with elected officials and their counterparts to help deliver a successful campaign.
Since 2002, she has assisted and advised on numerous political campaigns at the federal, state, county, and local levels of government in Illinois.
In 2007, Samreen joined the Office of the Governor in Illinois as a Senior Policy Analyst working with state government to create and implement state immigrant and refugee integration policy. It was in this position where she gained extensive knowledge about the various assistant programs the state offers. Later in 2009, she was appointed as Senior Policy Advisor and Liaison to Asian Americans for Governor Quinn. The issues varied working with elected officials from programmatic outreach, diversity enhancement in state government, advocacy, inter-governmental affairs, international trade and investment to state budget planning and economic development.
